Stop me if you've heard this one. 16 year old chick walks into the pharmacy to buy the morning after pill because she's worried about "somehow" being pregnant. Pharmacist takes her to the back to "show her" how to use the pill. BAM! Molests her. She tells her tales of woe to a chat dude, 25, who offers to take her to a bar for "counselling". He gets her drunk and BAM! Giggity giggity. Chick is totally bummed and gets in a cab to go to the police station to report the chat buddy. Cabbie asks why she's going to the cop shop, which she for some reason actually tells him the reason. BOOM! Aw right!!! 3 times in one day. I can't help but be suspicious about this. She's supposed to be all innocent and victimized, but come on. 3 times in one day? I don't get it. Take that 90-year old woman. THAT'S a victim. 11-year old who got raped and burned you better motherfucking believe THAT'S a goddamn victim. But this high school chick is suspicious in my books. Why not read the article for yourselves and see what you think? There's a good point to the article but I think the 16 year old girl story is sensationalism mixed with gross exaggeration.

I don't even know where to begin trying to educate you as to how you have gone so horribly terribly wrong here. Anyone who has ever been sexually abused (approximately 1/2 of the population of the freaking planet at a conservative estimate) that reads this is going to be further traumatized by your ignorant ramblings (and I do mean ignorant in the 'just doesn't know' sense and I truly hope that's the case).

The fact that you start this as A JOKE I can only chalk up to society in general being desensitized to violence (especially against women). And what exactly is it that you find suspicious about this young GIRL? If she had in fact invited these encounters, don't you think that speaks to some kind of trauma (most assuredly sexual) that would result in such demeaning behaviour? Learning that you are worth nothing and are to be used as a piece of meat is an extremely strong lesson. No one is more vulnerable to victimization then the victimized.

I wish I could say that I was outraged at your comments but I am simply left feeling somewhat hollow and disappointed.

And yet, I still have hope that something in you will see what it is that you are perpetuating (do you not have women in your life that you can relate this kind of trauma to?) and do the world some small kindness by removing this particular blog.

Cheers, man

wise words, o brave anonymous one. where'd you learn all that sensitivity? why not lend some credibilty to your pathetic self and fess up to who you really are? are you trying to convince me that rape really exists in this world? wow. what an eye opener. i said i was suspicious of one girl. suddenly i'm an uneducated misogynist? i'm about to bust out crying here.

My intention was not to invoke defensiveness, sarcasm and presumptuousness; only to try to open your eyes to the potentially damaging weight that your words carry.

you, whoever you are, are a pretentious, insulting coward. use your real name if you're gonna be so serious about this or fuck off. for the record, my wife read this story in her native language and immediately agreed with me that this girl is either lying or so incredibly stupid it hurts (we both suspect the former). and for reasons that are numerous (Korean being her native language the least of all) she's a much more qualified commentator than you are on this story. there's a difference between sexual abuse and CLAIMING sexual abuse. girls who gew up too fast and made mistakes shout "rape" the next day just as often as truly abused victims do. and yes i know it's statutory rape but unfortunately there do exist teenage girls who aren't as innocent as the law says they are. grow up and look at this realistically. i wasn't making any blanket statements about rape or anything else beyond this particular case. if i'm perpetuating anything, it's bad taste.

Damn House!
Your comments section is more exciting than mine ever gets. I also think I recognize that writing style, hmm but could be wrong so won't go around outing people. Anyhow, I would just like to state for the record, in the three years I have known you, you have been nothing but wonderful, and have never said or done an ignorant or hurtful thing when it comes to women, or anyone really! Um, unless you count that time you burned me with your cig. you bastard!(kidding)

According to the article, the 16-year-old girl by definition is indeed a victim – whether or not she had consensual sex in order to acquire the morning after pill, regardless if she was stupid, drunk, asleep or whatever.

Such a sensitive topic and I’m not going to go on and on with a big diatribe about issues of power and rape and society or comment on credibility the journalism. Too much could be said, and I should be doing work right now.

What I will say, because I think this is important, is that I know that Mr. House is a great, nice, funny, smart, lovely man. I’ve known him for a long time and he’s my friend. But, when I read this post it just disappointed me. Made me wonder if this is how a lot of guys think. I hope not.

house, don't ever go the defensive on your own blog.

This story has only two realities:

1) It is fake.
It is too outlandish and sensational. Three times in one day? I believe it. But ... this tale has every typical Korea teenage girl 'danger' tale woven into it. Don’t ride in taxis alone. Don’t go to the pharmacy and ask about sex. Don’t talk to strangers online. It is the stuff of urban legend.

2) It is real.
The girl was molested or harassed or something sexual happened to her that she didn't want to have happen (the article is vague, and no mention is ever made of rape). But ... three times in one day? One could chuck in here an old adage about being fooled more than once, but that would be obvious. This girl is dumb, dumb, and dumb. She is dumb because this is how Korea likes its women. She is dumb because her mother is probably dumb and raised her to "obey" men older than her (like a lot of Korean society prefers women to be). She is dumb because that is what is been expected of her all her life. I don’t shed tears for the misfortunes of dumb people. I am appalled not by their victimization (which I usually find laughable), but at the people who think themselves smart or brave for taking advantage of this genetic stupidity; they are bottom-feeders.

Or maybe she isn't dumb at all. She may actually be quite bright, just a complete sex fiend and has told a series of stories to cover her tracks. While everyone is now engage in a useless debate over the validity of her story, she is allowed to slip away, with cultural stigmas and taboos intact. Korea has a very difficult time accepting sexually liberated girls and likes to pretend that everyone is always being forced into something.

you know, "gk", you see things in a very black and white fashion. just because a girl is 16 doesn't make her a "victim". not these days. how does one article make a universal definition anyway? i don't need an "education" from you, or society, or anyone else. for the record, i'm against many of gg allin's onstage antics. i'm well-educated in these maters and am intimate with people in my life who are REAL victims. you don't know this girl and either do i. yet you flaunt your opinion as though you're in touch with some higher "truth" just because you're a woman. also, you're letting yourself believe that this is my opinion on ALL rape cases. READ MY DAMN WORDS. i'm criticizing ONE girl's story. jesus don't be so obtuse. and you pander to society's roles of "being a woman". you hope all guys don't think like this? spare me.

oh and i thought "gk" was anonymous but she isn't. and yes my intention was to PISS PEOPLE OFF, because girls like this, if she was lying, are taking a lot of credence away from real victims. especially in this korean confuscist society which already likes to dust rape cases under the carpet. and that pisses ME off. so bring it. all the REAL victims in my life and now i see this story? yes it made me angry. if you don't see it the way i do, fine, but don't bring this "i was a victim too" nonsense because your situations and this situation are about as far removed from each other as disneyland and a donkey's cock.
